Traditional Advent and Christmas markets in Tyrol

Discover the Christmas and winter markets in Seefeld, Leutasch, Innsbruck and the surrounding area

It's a very special time, the festive world of Christmas and Advent markets in Tyrol! While the region around the Tyrolean high plateau is transformed into a winter wonderland, the special magic of Tyrol is also created at the most festive time of year.

What is behind the Tyrolean tradition of Christmas and Advent markets?

It was probably the Christmas tree markets that started it all, heralding a splendid era of Christmas and Advent markets. Initially, spruce and fir trees were advertised at the market to decorate and line homes around the festive season.
This tradition in Tyrol has grown steadily and enjoys great popularity: today the Tyrolean Christmas markets are also among the most beautiful markets internationally.
They are an annual must-visit during the Advent season and beyond. They enchant their young and young-at-heart visitors with their lights, scents and songs.
